Pool Safety Guidelines
- All pools should be used exclusively for motel guests.
- Outdoor pools should be fully enclosed by a 6' fence with a self-latching
gate.
- All pools should have depths marked boldly around the perimeter
of the pool
- Do not allow slides or diving boards
- Proper signage around the pool area should indicate (for example):
- No lifeguard - swim at your
own risk
- Children must be supervised at all
times
- No diving
- No glass bottles or containers allowed
in pool area
- No running
- Hours of use
- Life safety items should be readily available; such as floatation
device, extension hook (10-16'), first aid kit.
- Have regular safety inspection on file.
- Keep pool clean. Clear visibility to bottom of pool.
- Keep pool properly PH balanced and professionally maintained by
pool contractor.
- Controlled access to pool - proper card key entry, self-latching
gate/door.
- Pool area fully lit during after dark hours, if applicable.
